Raspberry Waffle Protein Mini-Breakfast!
In a mad dash out the door this morning on the way to my hair appointment, I threw together this delicious waffle raspberry combo! I was so thankful that I made extra protein waffles last week and froze them!
Having some extra pre-prepared meals on hand definitely comes in handy with a busy schedule. If it wasn’t for my excess of protein waffles, I would have only had a fruit smoothie for breakfast.
My metabolism is too high to survive off of a fruit smoothie for more then a couple hours, so this protein waffle was really a life saver!
I need to try this with Locket. The only relaxing Yoga pose she’ll participate in is nap time.
A Spicy Flatbread Frenzy! Sauteed Sun-Dried Tomato, Red Peppers, Cayenne and Oregano masterpiece.
Lately I’ve gotten myself into a fabulous flatbread frenzy! After tasting my first flatbread…
This was TOO awesome not to put on my health blog!
Take a second to sit down, turn your computer monitor off and silence your cell phone.
Write a list of 5 simple things that you can start implementing into your life RIGHT NOW that will make you proud a year from now. This is a great idea for beginners just getting started on their Fitspirational Journeys!
A few things on my list:
- Add ONE more serving of fruit to every day as a daily snack
- Complete 2-3 runs with my boyfriend by this time next year (Color Run CHECK!)
- Make 2-3 health blog posts every day
- Start going to bed earlier, ensuring at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night
- Make a “goal board” with 20 things I’d like to do in the next year. Cross things off as I do them!
Try it out :) What’s on your list?
This must be my long lost child!

- Orange pineapple banana juice
Blend and enjoy!
Don’t worry, to my surprise, I couldn’t even taste the carrots Such a great way to sneak some extra nutrients into your day!
“Eating ONE hamburger every day can increase the death rate by 1/3″ – Graham Hill
Throughout my many awesome years of health blogging, not to mention my entire 24 years of lifelong vegetarianism; one of the most common questions I get asked is, “Brittany, why would you possibly bother being vegetarian?”
Here are my 3 answers to that question-
Did you know we raise 10 BILLION animals each year for meat? Out of those 10 billion- a majority of them are raised in factory farm conditions that we wouldn’t even consider for our own cats, dogs etc. If you’d like to learn more about this- Google these 3 words: “animal factory cruelty”. Spend ONE minute on Google images, and I guarantee you’ll give vegetarianism another thought.
Meat causes more emissions than all transportation combined. Cars, trains, planes, boats- you name it.
Beef production uses 100 times more water then most vegetables do.
Increase in Meat Consumption
We as a society are eating TWICE as much meat as we did in the 50′s. What used to be a small side dish, is now the main course.
With the traditional Western diet, the average American consumes about double the protein her or his body needs.
Additionally, the main source of protein comes from animal products which are high in fat and saturated fat.
Stand against animal cruelty, help the environment, allow your body to be healthier, and live a longer life; being vegetarian is AWESOME.
Palm Springs Outfit- CHECK! http://bit.ly/1bsVHmr
I’ve officially dived into the wonderful world if soups! Growing up a picky eater, I wouldn’t go anywhere near foods that didn’t have the words “mac” or “cheese” in it. Now, I’m 24 years old I’m slowing taking baby steps out of the picky eating world! After a drop of tomato soup touched my tongue, I couldn’t get enough. Try this delicious (very easy) recipe and fall in love too!
1 lb tomatoes
1 bunch of fresh basil, chopped
1 cups vegetable broth
1-2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Put all of your fresh and delicious ingredients together in a blender or food processor. When they’re blended, put your smooth soup into a medium-sized saucepan for 7-10 minutes. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until almost smooth, or until desired consistency is reached. The milk is not necessary, however I love my tomato soup creamy
Makes 2-4 servings.
I threw together this delicious mini-masterpiece from fridge left-overs!
What’s in it:
Melted string mozzarella cheese
Low-Fat baked flakey biscuits
Sauted honey portable mushrooms
Freshly sliced avocado
A simple Italian side salad
After baking the biscuits in the oven for 5 minutes, I took them out, filled them with the ingredients above, covered them in tin foil, and then baked them again for 5 minutes this got the cheese melted to perfection without burning the biscuits.
Pear White Balsamic-Vinegarette
This delicious Pear White Balsamic Vinegarette was recommended to me by my friend Melissa! She made a kick-butt summer pear salad for our church potluck.
My mouth is still watering just thinking about it! It was so delicious, that everyone ate it before I could get my phone out to snap a picture!
Anyway, Melissa found this fruity-gem at Sprouts (which is a local San Diego food store.)
I definitely recommend picking some up!
Good form is SO important when you’re doing push ups. Doing them the wrong way will minimize the effect of the exercise, not to mention potentially strain your neck and wrists.
If I can do these push ups in heels and a dress, you can do them in a sports bra and sneakers!
- Don’t stick your butt up in the air
- Don’t put your hands too close together
- Don’t strain your neck by trying to look at your toes
- Don’t forget to breathe between each push up
- Do Have a flat back
- Do look a little bit in front of you
- Do put your hands chest length apart
- Do put your elbows at 90 degrees
- Do always keep your arms over your wrist
Notice how my butt isn’t sticking up, and my elbows are over my wrists!
These may seem like a lot of steps now, but if you keep practicing the right way to do push ups; it will get you to your goal body WAY quicker- and without damaging your precious self.
Choose a healthy desert:
I chose to snack on some homemade blue raspberry jello tonight with my dad, instead of a bowl of icecream or a bunch of cookies!
Less sugar, less calories and just as satisfying.
I added fresh blueberries and raspberries while preparing the jello mixture this morning, unfortunately I got hungry and ate them before I took this picture. They were a fresh and fruity Fitspirational spin to this classic dessert.
This delicious easy make slushie will take your breath away.
Made with REAL fruit, and no artificial flavors makes this a great alternative to store bought juice.

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/3 cup granulated sugar (you can also substitute honey to make it a bit healthier)
Blend everything together, add a slice of watermelon and some fresh mint for garish! Seriously guys, so good.
