These are some fabulous replacements!
Take notes guys, a lot of small changes- add up to BIG results!

I don’t know why, but it REALLY bothers me when people tell me they’re a vegetarian… and then they add, “But I eat Chicken and fish….”
Guess what, if you eat chicken and fish, YOU’RE NOT A VEGETARIAN!!!!!
I’ve been a strict vegetarian for my whole life, so I know what it means to NOT eat any meat.
Anyway, I used to not like going to Sushi restaurants because I thought that all their rolls had some type of fish in them. However, I went to a sushi restaurant this weekend and they let me customize my own roll and IT WAS SO GOOD!!!
In my vegetarian sushi roll:
- Avocado
- Cucumber
- Cream cheese
- Asparagus heads
- Soy Paper (Instead of seaweed)
OH MY GOSH, my mouth was in sushi heaven!
I am making this post, especially for all the newbie vegetarians out there. Just because you don’t eat meat, doesn’t mean you can’t go to all the same restaurants and have delicious food. We are lucky that we live in an age where most restaurants give vegetarian (and vegan) options for us to choose from.
I added sriracha sauce on the side, just to give it some extra spicyness :)
Vegetarians, GET CREATIVE like I did!!!!
Xox Brittany,

It’s been 2 days short of 3 months since I gave up caffeine- cold turkey. It’s crazy to look back at pictures of TONS of coffee cups like this and remember how much caffeine I was forcing into my body every day. I didn’t realize how addicted to caffeine I really was until I stopped drinking it completely.
2-5 cups a day, lattes, mochas, fraps.. you name it- I drank it!
Now I have MAYBE one cup of decaf a day, if that and I feel GREAT!
Coffee is not something I crave any more. It’s not something I NEED to stay awake and get energy from; now I get my energy from natural sources.
I feel like I’ve conquered one of my biggest demons.
It was a LONG HARD 3 months full of:
- Headaches
- Mood swings
- Tiredness
- Not to mention the weeks of INTENSE cravings!
But you know what? IT WAS WORTH EVERY PAINFUL SECOND!
I highly encourage you to quit your addictions. It’s not good to be addicted to ANYTHING. Enjoying something and being addicted to something are two VERY different things. If you can’t go more than a week without something; junk food, sugar, coffee, smoking, alcohol, etc… you’re most likely addicted to it.
Trust me, my middle name might have well had been Starbucks. If I can quit caffeine- SO CAN YOU!
Xox Brittany,

*Ehem*
That would be ME!!!!!
I’d make that cauliflower into the pizza crust of his dreams!!

This is SUCH a great question!! I have a great answer too :)
A lot of my followers have been asking the exact same question, so I will definitely be doing another post about my No-Caffeine progress soon.
Here’s a quick recap for you though :)
I used to be SO SO SO addicted to caffeine. I was literally drinking at LEAST one sugary-caffeine-packed coffee a DAY from Starbucks, and sometimes even a coke on TOP of that!
That’s how I grew up, on Soda sugary drinks and Starbucks… I’ve been struggling with it my whole life.
Then, 3 weeks ago I decided I was going to quit cold turkey!
Honestly, I’ve tried quite a few different ways to quit caffeine in the past. However, even though my previous attempts were successful for a short time, I’ve never been able to successfully “ween myself off of caffeine” completely.
SO- If you had asked me this question last year... I would have told you to try weaning yourself off of it; but now I’ve completely changed my mind.
Almost 3 weeks ago I decided to try to quit caffeine COLD TURKEY and just DEAL with the awful withdrawal symptoms that came with it!
It’s been 18 days (yes I’m counting, and yes I’m so proud of every single day) and I’m still caffeine free! I haven’t cheated, not even once, and I am finally starting to not crave caffeine anymore.
VICTORY IS SO CLOSE I CAN TASTE IT! (and it tastes like caffeine-free fruit smoothies hahaha)
I’m literally sitting in a coffee shop right now at 2:44 in the morning, studying for a midterm. I’m typing this message to you while sipping on a drink.. and guess what’s in my cup?
WATER!!
I’m awake and happy at 2:44am and haven’t had any caffeine in 3 weeks!
No more Caffeine-dependant Brittany :)
I went from being a HUGE caffeine addict, to quitting cold turkey.
What I want you to get out of this:
…if I am doing it, SO CAN YOU!!
If you’re wondering what to expect, or have any questions about my initial withdrawal symptoms, don’t hesitate to ask.
The caffeine-free life has actually made my body MORE energized because I don’t get “caffeine crashes” anymore. I bet if you quit the Coca Cola, you may even be more motivated to exercise :)

HAHAHAHA THIS IS THE BEST!!!!

Aren’t they the COOLEST!!!!
MAking your own drinks to-go is SUCH a great way to stay away from caffeine and high-fructose corn syrup drinks that people buy at the store.
If you bring your own drinks with you, the temptation of entering a market at all is completely avoided!
I got mine here:
Have a fabulous day hun, thanks for reading!

I have a bit of extra time tonight since I just finished my 2nd to last midterm **YAY SNAPS FOR BRITTANY**!
I’m going to try and get through a bunch of your questions in my inbox with this bit of free time!
They are starting to pile up in there, but I’m not complaining. I LOVE that you are all thirsty for knowledge on how to live healthier lives!! Glad that I can help quench your thirst :)
Feel free to ask questions anytime though, I will get to every single one eventually!

Helpful Hint on how to get your question answered quicker:
If I don’t answer your question within a week, SEND IT AGAIN! I have a lot of messages in my inbox, and sometimes they get lost in the mix.
:)

I haven’t actually tried anything on blogilates, but one of my best friends Allie is in love with everything Cassey does!
I really love the 30DS because I’ve done it 3 times already and has really serious results every time I’ve pushed through all 30 days.
Thank you so much for the congratulations! That was so sweet :) I was pretty excited all week hehe.

One of my sorority sisters told me she was on a “Blackberry Binge” last week, and I thought that was SO catchy, I just had to make it a blog post title!

Ironically, I happen to be snacking on some Blackberries while reading my favorite book- (The bible) which of course made for a perfect opportunity for a BlackBerry-Bible-Binge-Blog Post :)
Health benefits of Blackberries:
- Skin
- Eyesight
- Digestion
- Anti-oxidants
- Bone-health
- Immune System (One cup of blackberries contains half of the daily recommendation of the antioxidant vitamin C, which protects the immune system)
Low in:
- Calories
- Carbohydrates
- Fat
- (Making them the perfect snack for a balanced diet.)
This isn’t a tough one, buy some black berries and GO ON A BLACKBERRY BINGE WITH US!!

I’ve been REALLY pushing you guys lately to PLAN ahead and pre-pack your food the night BEFORE, so that you’re not in a huge panic in the morning.
This is my beautiful lunch, I’ve had twice this week, and I didn’t spend even ONE penny at a restaurant/market at college to make it!

Packing your lunch/snacks the night before, helps prevent:
- Forgetting to pack a fork to eat your salad with
- Grabbing the wrong dressing, and now your salad is going to taste funny
- Putting some sugary cookies in your lunch because you didn’t have time to look in the back of your fridge and find the raspberries
- Leaving your water bottle on the cereal shelf, because you we’re trying to remember to pack a drink, yet attempting to eat breakfast at the same time!
All 4 of those examples are things that have ACTUALLY happened to me when I get lazy and think, “Oh, I don’t have to prepare for tomorrow, I’ll just do everything in the morning.”
THIS IS A BAD IDEA!
Planning is key! I can’t say this enough times- Plan Plan Plan!
Try it for a week, you’re going to shock yourself with all the stress-free time you have in the mornings.
Xox Brittany,

Pre-Packing your lunch the night before, initially may seem like a useless task.
HOWEVER... when you hit the SNOOZE button on your alarm clock one to many times the next morning, and accidentally sleep in an extra 20 minutes, suddenly pre-packing your lunch the night before doesn’t seem so useless now does it?
If you’re like me and are REALLY busy, I can’t even tell you how important it is to pack your lunch AND snacks for the WHOLE day, the night before.
I am rarely home; I attend my college classes ALL day, and don’t have the time OR money to be running around looking for a salad with a 15 minute break in-between classes.
A demanding schedule like that, can absolutely cause you to to grab a candy bar instead of an apple when you’re in a rush at the college market.
Why tempt yourself?
Tomorrow’s salad includes:
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Fresh Sprouts
- Carrots
- Sprouts
- Red cabbage
- Almonds
- Almonds (not pictured)
- and a DELICIOUS light Olive Oil vinaigrette dressing!
I can’t take credit for the creation of this deliciously healthy masterpiece, this yummy combo goes right to Bryan!
I tend to stick with my top 3 favorite salads throughout the week, so this weekend Bryan brought home the ingredients for this and I fell in LOVE!!
(This dressing is really healthy, especially compared to “ranch” or “blue cheese” that restaurants typically serve.)
Later today, I’ll blog about healthy SNACKS to bring with you to school/work.
Pre-Packing your lunch the night before, REALLY helps maintain a nutritional diet with a busy schedule, trust me, I know!
Xox Brittany,

THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS WHY I AM QUITTING CAFFEINE!!
From reading my last post about “Quitting my caffeine addiction”, you know that it is NOT an easy process.
However, if coke can strip the paint off of your car… imagine what it is doing to the inside of our bodies!
If you’ve ever had the desire to quit caffeine, but don’t know where to start, ask me! I’m 7 days in and am FINALLY starting to feel better and not crave it as much.
THINK ABOUT WHAT THESE THINGS ARE DOING TO YOUR BODY!
Xox Brittany,

During our Post-Workout-Protein-Smoothie-Session from my last post, I spotted a sign that stated all the INCREDIBLE health benefits of Acai berries!!
Of course I just had to take a picture and share it on my health blog. Read it!! (Don’t mind my PINK reflection hahaha)
OH MY GOSH, I need to start eating these babies by the gallon!
I’m going to see if there are any great smoothie recipes that include Acai Berries, if you have tried any and love it- Message Me Here!
If I post you’re recipe, don’t worry, you’ll get credit :)
Hope everyone is having a fabulously-fit day haha
Xox Brittany,
The Color Run has been high on my bucket list since I began my Health Blog!
I just found out that the run is coming to San Diego in April, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I’m going to be there COVERED IN HOT PINK COLORS AND GLITTER!!!
(Is glitter an option?!?! Well it will be when I arrive!)
It’s only a 5K so that sounds about right for my first run.
After working at the Mud Run last month and watching thousands of people work their butts off to get through the mud, I was SO inspired to do a run myself with one of my best friends!
We might start doing runs together, having a running buddy makes it so much funner.
